Gazaille & Ward was founded in 1967 by Robert E. Ward (also known as Red Ward), a second-generation native of Martha’s Vineyard. In 1985 Red’s son-in-law, Thomas Pierce, joined the Gazaille & Ward Company as foreman. Tom’s background includes working on technology systems at Raytheon. Tom kept organized schedules and created budgets, which were essential to keeping Raytheon’s production on track.

Red knew that Tom’s background and work experience would make his transition to Gazaille & Ward seamless. Tom continues his expertise with budgets and time sensitive scheduling throughout his tenure as an island builder. He understands both are integral aspects of the client and contractor relationship. Gazaille & Ward has developed positive working relationships with many established architects both on Martha’s Vineyard and off-island. For over 50 years Gazaille and Ward has provided an island building experience and you can be assured your project will be well executed into your vision.
